The main characteristics of the steel frame pontoon are strenght and a good quality/price ratio as well as modularity. The pontoon consists of a sturdy supporting framework made of electrowelded hot-dip galvanised steel bars. It is supported by HDPE/FRP floats with high density polystyrene foam core. The decking is made of precious exotic wooden staves fixed with stainless steel bolts and screws. Moreover, the pontoon is provided with aluminium or timber lateral duct covers to house the equipment. They finished with wooden continuous fenders. A modular holes system is peculiar to side beams and allows the connection of mooring accessories (rings, fingers, etc). The head is preset for longitudinall connection of more modules through a semi-elastic "silent-block" system composed by neoprene shock absorbers and stainless steel bolts and screws. The holes made at regular distance on the side beams allow the connection of mooring accessories at any position (rings, fingers, etc). Sturdy plates located in the junction area have been specifically designed for the model in order to make the head more resistant to fatigue resistance than standard.
